Abair Seo is a an app for iOS and Android that provides a handy offline way to let speakers of Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig) and Irish (Gaeilge) speak to each other.

A total of 177 "cards" have a phrase in Gaelic and Irish (with an English translation). Audio for both languages is provided, recorded by native speakers. Most cards have phrases in the form of a question, and these can be flipped over to reveal some typical responses.

In conception, the app was developed for exchange-trip students, but it has applicability for learners of either language as well. It is also hoped the app will foster and deepen relations between the language communities in Scotland and Ireland.

Sealgar takes your privacy very seriously and collects no data about your usage of the app at any time. The app funtions without any internet connection being required.
