About Sealgar
The company

Sealgar Internet Solutions was founded in the spring of 2006. It was incorporated as a private limited company (Sealgar Limited, SC394699) in 2011 and has been trading as a plc since then.
The company has been based continuously in the Isle of Lewis since its founding.
Over the years Sealgar has worked on web and mobile developments with BBC ALBA, MG ALBA, Greenspace Research (now Greenspace Live) and Stòrlann Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig, as well as many other projects.
The name is a slight anglicisation of the Scottish Gaelic Sealgair, which means “hunter”, “one who hunts”
Contact information, including the office mailing address, is on the contact Sealgar page.
About me

I am the founder and sole employee of Sealgar. Prior to that I worked for Iomart and then for the BBC.
My first commercial work was writing Java servlet code in the late 1990s, when Sun Microsystems vision was to have applets in the browser talking to servlets in the datacentre (we didn't call it The Cloud then). It's mildly interesting that my most recent large project also uses a unified tech stack between browser and server, but it's now node and javascript rather than JServ and java.
Aside from a lifelong interest in computers I am partial to good books, good dogs and good days spent between the beach, the croft and the moor.
